Week 1: Starters in the greenhouse

I arrived a couple weeks early to the station to get things set up and to start some seeds in the greenhouse. The goal is to have a few things ready to harvest for spring term. The garden is moving this year, and the new site is not yet ready to begin planting in, so this week has been a lot of putting seeds in blocks of soil in the greenhouse. We have seeds started for lettuce, tomato, peas, beans, spinach, nasturtium, and much more. I also bought in some starters, so there is a little greenery in the greenhouse. Specifically tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, and some tiny little lettucelets. So… if you are coming up for spring term or summer term, start getting excited and feel free to stop in the greenhouse and check it out!

Next week I’ll be working on getting the garden site ready. For now, this is what it looks like.
